Welcome welcome!
I want to start this week off with a few questions: How many times have you felt pressured to buy a new product, training, or interface to properly market your business? How many times have you felt the need to give into trends, even if you didn’t quite like them, or you felt it was hard to make them stick with your vision and purpose? How often have you been encouraged to spend money to tell your story?
I say: no more! Sure, there are some wonderful, valuable tools out there, but ultimately, I want to help you realize that you do not need the latest trend, the funkiest filter, or the most expensive social media class out there to make an impact. You are intelligent, intuitive, and far wiser than you may realize. You have the freedom to market your business and tell your story with what is accessible to you right here and now.
In this episode, we talk about:
- We’ll take a new approach! You’ll be hearing from Jessicah Travis, one of my incredible clients, as she unlearns the Dominant Dogma telling her: “You don’t know how to market! Buy this to learn how!”
- You’ll hear how Jessicah let go of the “shoulds” and “musts” to lead a business of her own making
- You’ll get a first-hand account of the benefits of my Creative Business Accelerator, and you can decide if it’s right for you.

Hello hello, creative humans!
Today I am writing from Ventura, California while lying across the bed in my Airbnb. I just spent the last few days in Joshua Tree at a retreat hosted by my coach Madison Morrigan. I’m feeling well resourced, incredibly tired, and so grateful. It’s pretty late in the evening as I write this, so I can hear the occasional car passing by, but outside of that I mostly hear the rain gently landing on the patio outside. There is a soft glow from the nightstand lamp next to me, and I am surrounded by crisp white walls, hand-painted beach artwork, and an overall sense of peace.
As we begin today’s episode I also encourage you to pause and notice your surroundings. Take a moment to orient to your space and attune to what is surrounding you, this is a practice of freedom that no one can take away from you. Taking a deep breath notice what is holding you, a bed, a chair, the ground. Notice the texture of what is touching your skin, the colors of the objects in your space, any smells surrounding you, sounds, and where light and shadows meet. Simply notice without judgment.
Amazing, so today, the podcast is going to be a little bit unique in that you are actually going to hear from one of my incredible clients, Jessicah Travis, as she shares the Dominant Dogma she confronted while she was in my Creative Business Accelerator last year. The Dominant Dogma that told her, “You Don’t know how to market! Buy this to learn how!”
I’m so excited she recorded this for you, and as you listen I would love to hear what comes up for you! Shoot me a text at (312) 815-2774 and fill me in on how her story resonates.
Ok, let’s listen in to Jess’s story:
I joined Megan’s Creative Business Accelerator about 2 years into my work as a coach and podcaster. I was working a full-time job and hustling on the side to get my life coaching business and my and my husband’s joint membership platform off the ground. Despite having decades of experience leading groups and growing communities in a previous role, I felt I just didn’t know enough when it came to growing these new businesses. Instead of trusting the skills I already had, I tried the 6-Step Plans and 7-Day Launch Strategies, but they failed me. I was feeling defeated and I knew I didn’t want to keep chasing online business trends, marketing must-dos, and sales tactics that were misaligned.
The External Dominant Dogma I was hearing said: You Don’t Know How To Market, Buy This To Learn How!
The Internalized Dominant Dogma I was hearing said: I don’t know enough. I have to keep hustling. I must follow the trends.
With all this in mind, I decided to try a new way forward. Joining Megan’s Creative Business Accelerator I found myself in a room with a whole new breed of entrepreneurs. Humans who believe in carving your own path, integral leadership, taking the slow and steady route and co-creating a business on your terms.
As part of this 6 Month Experience, I found myself remembering that my business is MY business. Meaning, I can build it around who I am instead of around what the industry says it should be. Instead of hustling and pushing myself to the edge, I was able to move at my own pace, with support and interaction as I needed it. Through each session I found myself handing back old Dominant Dogma and expanding what I believed was possible.
This program, this Creative Business Accelerator, is the missing piece to your business. It doesn’t matter what your business offers the world, the glue between all the parts of your business is found here in this space. It’s not because there is a magic formula. It’s because you will find your magic that will create exactly what your soul wanted to create. And you’ll get the support, systems, and structure you need to support the creation.
I found freedom in the now, AND I discovered new ways forward to further the dreams I have for myself, my business, and my family.
